Welcome to Whole Heart Readers… which is really a bit of an internet cafe for the discussion of and delight in great literature for kids. I’m eager to introduce you to the stories that shaped me, and to discuss at length just how specifically they molded my soul. Look here for reviews on kid’s lit new and old and in every possible genre. Check back often for updates in research on reading, on great quotes culled in my own literary hours, and just for some good old-fashioned literary discussion. Books are the sort of gift that really do alter the mind and mold the soul. So I’m here to set you on the track of the very best.
So for now, happy reading! The first review is coming soon…

Hi Sarah – I am looking forward to this new blog. My kids and I love to read together, and I know you will have wonderful suggestions for us. Thanks!
Hi Sarah,
Hope life is well for you.
Robert and I are opening Bugaboo Barn soon, so were very busy getting things ready.
I was talking to a home school mother from Winnapeg last night, we have read the same books by your Mother.
She and her 11 yr. old daughter are here for a week to have fun, see Anne stuff, read Beautiful Girlhood and talk about adolescence. Isn’t that neat?
I told her that you stayed here and we got to talking about blessing ceremonies. I first heard about it from you.
Would you mind sending me the how too’s of it?
I would love to copy the idea.
Your friend in PEI,
Cheryl
Hi Sara!
I homeschool my children and we’ve have chosen many books based on your parents recommendations. I am looking so foreward to your recommendations as well…Good Day!
Hello Sarah,
I heard about your trip to England and Christian Heritage Cambridge today as I was reading the Whole Heart Newsletter. My wife Lesa and I, and our two children are praying about going to L’Abri in 2008 for a season of study. We would love any feedback that you have from your two week stay there.
It was the first I heard of CHC. Interesting that just yesterday I received an email from a friend from the states who started a church in Cambridge, and is looking for some to come minister to children there.
Reading your review of “Pooh” brought back fond memories of reading by the fire with my family. We’ll check back again.
Enjoy the rest of your stay – Sean and Lesa, CA
